What is an emergency?
Emergency calls and walk-in emergencies are always our first priority. Anything and everything can be a medical mergency for your pet.
Seek emergency care for a pet in these situations:
- Trauma from a fall or being struck by a car
- Seizures
- Trouble breathing
- Unconsciousness
- Vomiting and/or diarrhea for more than 24 hours or acutely if severe
- Broken bones
- Bleeding from the eyes, nose, or mouth
- Blood in urine or feces
- Ingestion or suspected swallowing of antifreeze, rat poison, human medications, household cleaners, fertilizers, pesticides, or harmful chemicals, etc.
- Collapses
- Signs of extreme pain, such as whining or shaking
- Disorientation or bumping into objects
- Swollen abdomen that is hard to the touch, painful, or continuing to expand
- Has gone more than 3-4 hours between delivering puppies or kittens
- Strains or is unable to urinate (especially male cats)
